I was walking Ollie yesterday,down by the River Whiteadder,when I got a call on the mobile.It was someone from the Scottish Nature Photography Awards to tell me that I had been judged to have the 2nd and 3rd best images in the Botanical section of the competition.’Keys’ was 2nd and ‘Poppy’ was 3rd.
These 2 images and the other 3 that I had shortlisted (all featured in an earlier blog,last month) will now appear in the forthcoming book to accompany the touring exhibition.

Wow. What beautiful pictures. It is great to know these pictures are all taken on our doorstep. What patience you must have and the gift to be in the right place at the right time. Yes I m visiting again. I had more time tonight to view more and more of the beautiful snaps, time well spent. The hen pheasant pictures are stunning and the proud cock pheasant very colouful. All in all I could natter on about them all as each category is superb. I checked out the Grouse and owl photos as I was on the moor that same day, absolutely superb. I would but them all if I could ! Will certainly pass your site on to my contacts.
Oops second last sentence should read – I would BUY them all.
